June Inspiration - using the Sarah Collection

June Inspiration UsingThe Sarah Collection

Lynne here again.  Wow don't the months just go by so fast.
For June I chose to use elements and papers from
the Sarah collection (which you can find
here ->  http://dragonslairdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=695_741)
It includes some beautiful pieces.

Now to show you my creation -
A teapot and teacup template from my crafting stash were used with papers and elements from the collection to make these.

Colouring for grown ups

Hiya colouring friends,

Colouring seems to be so poplar at the moment. With all these 'Colouring books for grown-ups' everywhere you go. A lot of them titled as 'Relaxing, Calm, Mindfulness, Therapy' etc. But its nothing new to us. We were there a long time ago, weren't we crafters?

I love colouring and find it very relaxing. I'm usually a Promarker user but I thought I'd have a bit of a change for this month and used pencil crayons instead.

I haven't used expensive pencils (but I must admit that I have sent off for some more 'professional' ones that I am still waiting for) to colour this months image so it great for beginners and the more experienced alike to get creative.

Hope you have a relaxing colouring time soon

Until next month

Nanette Here with Make From Deco Daze Collection at Dragons Lair Designs Store

Now if you have been following my posts and my posts on our Facebook Fan page, you will know that this is my last scheduled post for June and you have an opportunity to win something today!  You are looking for something and I am not going to tell you what!  No, I am not a meanie!  Just go back to my other 2 posts this month and see what you are looking for.  The first one to comment and tell me what it is and where you found it will get the prize!

I took this gorgeous distressed looking frame from the Deco Daze Collection Kit and added a lovely piece of background paper to the back also from this kit.  Before adhering the frame to background paper I added a fussy cut retro image of an advert for lunch for 40 cents!  Ah, the good old days...do you think our great grandchildren will look back at our times as the good old days?  I often wonder about that.  Then nothing more to do but cut the center out of one of the fabulous flowers included in the kit and shaping its petals a bit before gluing down.  And that was it!  See how easily you can work with these kits to produce fun, fast projects when you need them or really complex scrapbook pages that take a lot of time to finish!  Versatile is the word for these kits!

So this is it I will hang in my kitchen for that homey feel.  Look at the post and see what you need to find on this make!  Comment first with what it is and where it is on which post.  Be the winner!

Happy Crafting from Dragons Lair Designs!

Circle window card

Hi, it`s Joanna J again. Today, Im showing you my circle window card made of papers from Home Tweet Home Collection. I used plain pink paper as a base, and the top layer is made of flower printed paper also from the collection. If you don`t own a die cutting machine, just try to find a small plate, or another circular object and use it to draw a perfest circle, then cut it out with a pair of scissors. As decorations I used some sweet images from the collection and tiny flags made od sewing pins and strips of paper.

Guest DT Inspiration Project by Susan

Hi everybody!

For today's post of a creation to inspire you we invited Susan Renshaw, who's a Design Team member on our sister site, the Dragons Lair Designs Challenge Blog, to be our guest here on the DLD Inspiration blog.

After years of living in various locations around the world, Susan is now living in Derbyshire, UK.  You can read more about her and see her varied work on her blog - Here!

Susan was given a selection of items from the Home Tweet Home Collection to work with and decided to make a little tissue packet box.

She started off by choosing items from within the mini kit she was sent and printing them off.

She cut out and scored the little box.

After constructing the box she decorated it.

Here's the finished item -

You can see Susan's own post about this creation on her blog - Here!

Please do come back regularly over the next few weeks to have a look at the new creations made by the Design Team Members.  I'm sure you'll be inspired to craft when looking at their creations.

My New Set of Fabulous Jewelry from "Deco Daze" Collection!

I saw some fabulous elements in the Deco Daze Collection that screamed jewelry to me! So I took the portions of the elements I wanted to use and cut out and glued to a allergy med box.  Then I cut out and pressed into embossing ink, coated with UTEE, twice!, and used my heat gun to give them strength and a lovely finish!

  The whole set~

Earrings with pearl bead dangle~

My flower pin just love it~

Now of course before wearing I will back with
same paper from the collection but I wanted you to see you
probably have the stuff to make these lovelies already.
If you do not have a heat gun, then use decoupage glossy
and add several coats to front and back...basically
the same look!

Happy Crafting and LIKE us on Facebook!

DT Marleen - "Sarah Collenction" - Scrappage

Hi everyone..

I havent been active for a quite some time on the DT for
Dragons Lair Design but the other day I decided it was time to have a play again.

For today Ive used the "Sarah" Collection.
You can find it in the STORE with all the other digital goodies.

Ive made yet another A4 scrappage. I just love making these. As they are smaller then my usual 12x12 LO's, I  often find them much quicker to do. Something I really love.

Apart from the green doily, the gems and my backing A4 sheet everything else on the page is from the kit.

And that is all from me for today. I hope you like what Ive made.
Thank you for popping by and for any comments left behind.

A Project Using the "Deco Daze" Collection by Nanette

The lovely "Deco Daze" collection kit contains some really awesome deco art style elements to it.  I was instantly drawn to it by the lovely purples and blues it contains!  For this piece I used a background paper and added part of a frame element from the kit, a wonderful thing about these kits you can modify them to use as you like!  The face I feel in love with so sleek and such clean lines!  I copied two and fussy cut the inside circle part of the face and bird and popped on with foam dots for some dimension.  A little Diamond Accents on lips and earrings to accessorize her nicely.  I cut 2 of the lace pieces and had to only use a small piece of the second one to go along the top. But no worries as that left over piece will find it's way onto another make this month so keep your eyes open!  The first one to comment on it when they see it on my personal blog will get the make sent to them!! So be on the look out!  A lovely string of diamonds is included in this kit and I fussy cut them and added a coat of Diamond Accents to them and let dry before attaching to the top portion of the page.  I added the sentiment, also included in kit along with a whole page of others, on foam dots.  I wanted something else and the lovely flowers that accompany this kit seemed to fit the spot. So I had copied two of them and cut the first cutting almost to the center of the flower then bending and shaping the bottom layer. The I cut the second one's center out and did the same way attaching to the top of the first one with a dab of Diamond Accents. The whole lovely flower was then put on with a foam dot.

Inspiration by Gwyneth - June - Revisiting Three Older Collections

Good Morning Everybody!

Hi everybody.

I'm back again with a few more projects to hopefully inspire you to get creating with Dragons Lair Designs collections.

As our Inspiration Blog post of the 1st of the month told you - this month we are giving our Design Team Members the chance to work with their choice of three different, older, collections from the Dragons Lair Designs store.

The collections available to choose from in June are:

I decided to have a play with all three collections, but to create simple cards, ones that could be posted using a standard stamp in the UK.  Much as people love the more elaborate cards I'm finding that family members, and others who buy from me occasionally, who are going to post cards ask for ones who's dimensions allow for them to be posted using a standard stamp.  Money constraints mean they can't afford to buy the more elaborate cards and then pay for a large letter or small packet stamp on top.

So this time I decided to go simple.

Deco Daze:

This card is made using a pre-designed card.  Printed onto two sheets of cardstock, one sheet is the base card which I cut out, scored and folded.  The second sheet has the layers to build up.  To keep the dimension of the card low I only used a thin layer of glue gel to build up the layers so that the dimension is just visible without building up the height too much.

This card is simply made using a topper and background from the collection cut and stuck to an A5 card made by scoreing and folding an A4 sheet of white cardstock

Home Tweet Home:

I used a scalloped edge 5" square card as a base to this card.  The matting and layering were cut out using dies, the bottom layer being a background from the collection, as well as the greeting "Penblwydd Hapus" (which is Welsh for "Happy Birthday"). A ribbon element from the collection was printed out and put across the card before sticking on the matting and layering using wet glue. The bird is a topper from the collection which I cut out and stuck on using a thin layer of glue gel.

Sarah:

This card was made by simply scoreing an A4 sheet and folding in half.  The circular "brad" topper and mat were printed out from the kit and stuck on using wet blue.  The vine, flowers, leaves and greeting were cut out using dies and also stuck on using wet glue.  Diolch is Welsh for Thank You.

These are what I used:

Start Of A New Month

Hi everybody!

Well, it's the start of a new month, with hopefully lots of time to do crafting.  Usually we start a new month at Dragons Lair Designs with the launch of a new collection - but not this month!

Does this mean that we are giving our Design Team members the month off?  Of Course Not!

We have many Design Team members who are new to the team and have therefore never had a chance to play with some of the older Dragons Lair Designs collections.  So this month we've picked three of the collections and given the Design Team the chance to choose and play.

So during this month you will see an assortment of creations made using:

Here's a flavour of the colour scheme and items in each collection, together with some creations made using the collections in the past - but please do go to the store to see what you can find in each collection -

Decorated candle holders by Marleen

Please do come back regularly during the month to have a look at the new creations made by the Design Team Members.  I'm sure you'll be inspired to craft when looking at their creations.
