The Witch in the Moon

Hi everyone! It's me, Tonya and I'm here to share my project for this month using the Trick or Treat Collection from the Dragon's Lair Den. I altered a 4 oz can to hold a special treat. :-)

From the Trick or Treat Collection Paper Pack I choose the "purple witch" image which I set my printer on the #10 business envelope setting and printed onto a sheet of white cardstock. I trimmed to fit and  then adhered to the can. I added Diamond Dew Drops to the bottom and lace to the top of the can.

Next I printed Trick or Treat Journaling Cards and fussy cut the witch out which I added a little chalk pastels to her and then lightly outlined her with a sharpie. I added Crystal Stickles to the moon. I set that aside to dry. Next I cut a piece of burlap ribbon to fit a mini October desk top calendar which I adhered to the top of the ribbon, added some bling to two of the edges and glued one corner to the can. The scrap leftover from fussy cutting the witch out I punch three leaves that I crumpled up , inked and adhered to the can along with the witch image. I finished off with sequin, dew drop and cording to make this spooky cute treat holder.

Supplies Used:
Other Supplies: Stickles, Diamond Dew Drops, Sequins, Leaf Punch, Black Sharpie, Bling, Cording, Lace, Chalk Pastels

If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Friday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

BOO !!!

Hello there.  I hope i didn't scare you too much just then? Well....you can come out from behind the sofa and read all about my new make for your inspiration to calm your nerves !! This is my first design team project for Dragons Lair Designs and i must say i really enjoyed it.  When i heard what the project was about i was a bit hesitant as i don't normally celebrate halloween and i did wonder what to do.  But then, like someone cast a spell on me, i had a great idea to do a tag - here it is ...

The kraft card tag was just sat there on my desk, doing nothing so i thought that it was the perfect item to work with.  I think that this particular colour card went perfectly with the tones of the paper. I like the tatty edge look to my projects so i got busy with my Tim Holtz distress tool.  I also did it to the back ground paper and the journal card from the Trick or Treat Kit.  I found this to be very therapeutic !!! I then cut out a witch with the help of my rather fab Brother Scan and Cut and placed it on my project - which took ages by the way as i couldn't find 'just' the right place her.  I then glued a huge toy spider into place and i added the supposedly unlucky number 13 to it and distressed it with black distress ink.  The tassle was actually a necklace i found in a charity shop which i shortened.

And there you have it.  Hope you enjoyed my project as much as i enjoyed doing it.  Thanks for taking time to come and visit me and i ope you have chance to pop on over to the website to see if anything else tickles your fancy

Take care

Jo

Sneak peek No 2 using New Francheska Collection - Digital Scrapbook Page

Hello again everyone i'm here to show you my second sneek peek of the gorgeous Francheska Kit.  It seems I can't stop using it! Anyway this time I went for a digital make as DLD designs are great for Paper & Digital crafting. I'm not much of a digital crafter but i've just gotten into it and DLD designs make it really easy to put a project together. I hope you like my sneek peek 2 and don't forget to stop by the store in November as there's a discount for a limited time, so make good use of it.

And here's my project which I hope you like as i'm pretty proud of it. In fact i've decided to do a digital scrapbook for my stepson & his partner for Christmas as i'm sure they'll love seeing all their family in the layouts.

October colour along - No line colouring

Hiya colouring buddies,

Autumn is definitely in the air, so this month we will be using the cute Yohoo's Pumpkin Digi

Before I printed the image I uploaded it into my Craft Artist software so I could lighten the lines ready for the 'No line colour' technique.

It's very hard to see n the picture, but when printed the lines are now much lighter.

Pen used are:
March Hare (Spring/Summer 2014 Limited Edition)
Tan
Cinnamon
Almond
Satin
Pastel Beige
Oatmeal
Apricot
Honeycomb
Ginger
Apple
Grass
Lush Green
Cool Grey 2
Burgundy
Blender

Firstly, with a flicking motion use March Hare and start to colour where the darkest areas with be.

Now do the same with the Tan marker, but don't go out as far as the first colour

Repeat the same process with the Cinnamon marker, but don't go as far out as the second colour.

Repeat the first three steps again, but this time come a little further out with each colour

Using the same technique, colour the head as below

For his belly, I used a light set of colours : Almond, Satin and Pastel Beige.

Using the Almond, colour whole area...

and then add some shadow using Satin

Darken the edge of the shadow a little more with some Pastel Beige (sorry for the state  of the pen. It's one of my original pens that is still going strong :)

Now complete the face using the same process. And to add a bit of texture, take your blender pen and lightly dot all over the areas you have just coloured

And then the feathers you coloured earlier

Colour the whole beak with Oatmeal (remember to leave a white highlight spot)...

Add some shadow using a Apricot marker

And blend together with the Oatmeal

Then fill the whole pumpkin in with Oat meal to blend together (sorry there is no picture of this step, it disappeared from my camera). Complete the neaxt two pumpkins in the same way. And then colour the stalks as below using the pens: Apple, Grass and Lush Green

I slightly darkened his eyes using a Cool Grey 2 pen, but this step is optional

His feet are finished using a Burgundy pen

For the grass and leaves I used the same colours as the stalks: Apple, Grass and Lush Green, as follows.

For the grass I thought I'd us a slightly different technique to give a feeling of texture. I dotted the colours on each colour layer and I really think it gives you the feeling of texture rather than a flat colour

Still using the dotting action, use the Apple marker to blend together.

I can't wait to see your colour along finished images. So why not pop over and share them on our Facebook Group (don't worry they are a friendly lot). See you over there

Until next month

Happy crafting
